Windows 11 Readiness Analyst – Device & Application Compatibility

Irvine, California

18-Week Contract

M-F, 8AM-5PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy IT Analyst to support our Fortune 500 pharmaceutical client’s transition to Windows 11 for their Irvine location (~30 devices), as well as remote application readiness support for their Germany location (~500 devices). This role will be critical in assessing, reporting, and validating the compatibility of both hardware devices and software applications used by researchers and scientists in an R&D lab environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of enterprise IT systems, and hands-on experience with Windows OS migration planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive current state inventory assessment of lab devices and applications to validate Windows 11 compatibility.
• Perform site walkthroughs to inspect and log each device (asset tag, OS, CPU, RAM, TPM, etc.).
• Analyze current hardware specifications against Windows 11 system requirements; identify upgrades or replacements needed.
• Evaluate all lab-critical applications for compatibility with Windows 11, including coordination with vendors as necessary.
• Track and document compatibility issues, testing outcomes, and readiness status using appropriate tools and documentation standards.
• Provide recommendations and timelines for remediation of non-compatible systems.
• Work with IT and lab teams to develop testing protocols for application functionality on Windows 11.
• Assist in planning and coordination of pilot testing and phased rollout of Windows 11 in the lab environment.
• Maintain close communication with stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to lab operations during the transition.

Requirements:

• 4+ years in IT systems analysis or support, including experience in a laboratory or clinical environment.
• Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 features, system requirements, and migration paths.
• Understands the entire lifecycle of Windows migration, including both hardware and software aspects.
• Experience with tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Configuration Manager (SCCM), or similar.
• Strong analytical and spreadsheet reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience in application testing and OS compatibility analysis.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• CompTIA A+ certification.
• Understanding of R&D lab-specific software and device integration.
• Has worked in highly regulated industries and understands GxP.
