Job summary

BioMarin in San Rafael is seeking a Category Manager for IT & Professional Services to drive sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and lead negotiations for software and services.

You will partner with IT and business teams, implement category plans, and use procurement analytics to optimize value and risk. This role focuses on global supplier management and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with sourcing and procurement best practices.
• Demonstrated end-to-end experience developing and operationalizing category strategies.
• Understand risk elements of suppliers within the category markets and define/engage risk assessment and mitigation tactics.
• Proven experience in fostering collaboration and supporting team dynamics.
• Experience in supplier management and complex IT contract negotiations (i.e. SaaS, AI).
• Results-driven mindset with strong communication and cross-functional skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute IT and Professional Services category strategies.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contract management to achieve savings.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to align sourcing goals with company objectives.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
