IT Administrator

Full Time Oklahoma City, OK, US

Job Description

The IT System Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and operations of both hardware and software within the IT environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install/configure new servers based on standards and operational requirements
  • Installation and maintenance of OS, including patching, new installs, and upgrades
  • Maintain, configure, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot Linux/Windows environments
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks and system processes
  • Implement and manage system automation tools to improve service delivery
  • Perform daily monitoring, including hardware, applications, key processes, and scheduled jobs
  • Performance and system tuning of resource optimization: CPU, memory, and disk partitions as needed
  • Manage user accounts and system access controls
  • Support helpdesk with escalated technical tasks as needed
  • Work with technical and non-technical teams to accomplish company goals
  • Provide system and network security updates, audits, and reporting as needed
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new IT team members, sharing knowledge of systems, procedures, and best practices
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience with Office 365, Active Directory, and MS Exchange Server
  • Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, and SSL
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and automation tools
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred)
  • Understanding of network fundamentals, including LAN and VPN
  • Experience with SFTP solutions
  • Working knowledge of ticketing and IT service management (ITSM) systems

Education/Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of Linux administration experience
  • Proficient in shell scripting, cron jobs, user account management, log analysis, and network/mail service configuration
  • Experience developing scripts and automation for infrastructure tasks
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to document processes clearly
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories).
