Job summary

1rti is seeking a motivated IT Systems Administrator to join our internal IT team. You will support end users, administer on-premises and cloud systems, and help maintain secure, scalable infrastructure.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems across Windows, Linux, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity. Will participate in on-call rotation, travel periodically, and install server, storage, and networking gear.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in IT administration, systems administration, or related roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows desktop and server OS and Linux administration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Microsoft Azure services.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, wireless networking, and network security concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, OS, and network issues.
  • Strong customer service, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and collaborate with a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel when required.
  • Must pass drug screening and background check

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our internal IT team. This position provides end-user support, administers on-premises and cloud systems, and helps maintain secure, reliable, and scalable technology infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a practical problem solver who enjoys helping users, troubleshooting complex issues, and working across Windows, Linux, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation, periodic travel, and hands-on installation of server, storage, networking, and rack-mounted equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing:
End User & Help Desk Support
  • Provide technical support to internal end users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, identity, access, connectivity, and system issues.
  • Respond to requests through the ticketing system, email, phone, chat, and deskside support.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or another virtualization platform.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, infrastructure planning, monitoring, and backup solutions.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of web servers such as IIS, Apache, or NGINX.
  • Experience with automation or scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Azure, Cisco, or Linux certifications.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to rack, cable, install, and service server, storage, UPS, and network equipment.
  • Ability to work in office, data center, warehouse, and equipment-room environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when required.
Schedule & Travel:
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Occasional evening or weekend maintenance activities.
  • Periodic travel to company facilities, project sites, training, or vendor engagements.
