Job summary

Modern Woodmen of America in Rock Island, IL seeks an Issue Analyst in our Underwriting Department to investigate and resolve application issues, process life insurance transactions, and keep business operations accurate.

You will review documents, enter data, and cooperate with multiple departments while maintaining high accuracy and customer focus. The role emphasizes problem solving and learning underwriting procedures in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reviews application and corresponding documents to determine if proper forms have been submitted and completed properly.
• Enters necessary application information into the system.
• Applies payments and verifies proper accounting.
• Requests additional information as indicated by underwriting requirements.
• Works with other departments to process applications as necessary.
• Review medical information, lab work, and other documents.
• Approves, rates, or refers applications as determined by underwriting guidelines and departmental procedures.
• Assists Financial Representatives and other department personnel with any procedural questions.
• Prepares certificate for mailing.
• Must be willing to learn software programs, certificate provisions, organization policies and procedures, state laws, and departmental procedures related to the underwriting process.

Are you a detailed-oriented problem solver who likes to make an impact behind the scenes? If so, Modern Woodmen of America is hiring an Issue Analyst in our Underwriting Department. As an Issue Analyst, you'll investigate and resolve application issues, process life insurance transactions, and help keep business operations running smoothly and accurately.

What we offer:

• Pay: The hourly pay for this position is $20.50. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employment-based sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time, nor can we guarantee future sponsorship.
• Work Arrangements: This is a full-time office focused, hourly position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Office focused positions work on-site due to the nature of the work and have limited remote days.
