Job summary

TheIncLab is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to maintain the security posture of assigned information systems and support RMF activities across the system life cycle. You will partner with system owners, security leadership, assessors, and operators to ensure documentation, compliance, and risk decisions are managed effectively.

Responsibilities include coordinating control implementation, developing security artifacts (SSP, SAR, POA&M), conducting audits and vulnerability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field; experience may substitute.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity, information assurance, or RMF experience.
• Experience supporting RMF authorization activities (SSP, SAR, POA&M).
• Knowledge of NIST RMF, 800-37, 800-53, and lifecycle security practices.
• Experience creating cybersecurity policies and compliance documents.
• Current role-aligned certifications (Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CISM, etc.).
• Able to communicate risk and remediation priorities to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the security posture of assigned information systems with stakeholders.
• Support RMF activities: control implementation, assessments, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain security artifacts (SSP, SAR, POA&M, risk assessments).
• Coordinate security controls with engineering, cloud, application, and operations teams.
• Conduct audit log reviews, vulnerability scans, and compliance monitoring.
• Report remediation status and risk acceptance decisions.
• Assess security impact of system changes and cloud services.
• Support security event review and incident response.
• Prepare status updates and compliance reports for leadership and auditors.
