Job summary

Applied Research Solutions (ARS) is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Journeyman to support Department of the Air Force information systems at Hill AFB, Ogden, Utah. You will ensure RMF authorization, maintain security documentation, and coordinate with the ISSM and IT teams to safeguard systems and data.

The role requires US citizenship, Top Secret clearance, and IAT Level II certification, with a path through multiple education/experience options.

Qualifications

• US citizen is required.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• IAT Level II qualification/certification required.
• Working knowledge of DoD RMF, system authorization and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Support RMF assessment and authorization for DoD/Air Force PIT systems; prepare, review, and maintain security artifacts.
• Maintain cybersecurity posture by implementing DoD/AF information security requirements and controls.
• Assist ISSM with risk and vulnerability assessments, track corrective actions, and recommend mitigations.
• Conduct system security evaluations, audits, and continuous monitoring; remediate findings.
• Develop and maintain system security policies, RMF artifacts, and configuration documentation.
• Coordinate with ISSM and IT teams on secure configurations and baseline controls.
• Support incident response coordination and disaster recovery documentation.
• Communicate security risks to Government and contractor stakeholders.

Education

3+ years relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in IRD + 2+ years relevant experience

Master’s degree in IRD + 1+ year relevant experience
