Job summary

Guidehouse seeks an Information Security Systems Officer (ISSO) for the DoW SkillBridge program. The role leads RMF, ATO processes, and cloud security across hybrid environments, providing expert guidance to engineers, and ensuring compliance with federal requirements.

The ISSO will mentor junior staff, design secure cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and drive risk assessments while coordinating with security teams and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Active and maintained SECRET DoD/DoW security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Must have command approval to participate in a DoW SkillBridge program as stated.
• Within 180 days of separation from U.S. Armed Forces.
• 1–7 years of cybersecurity or secure systems engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of RMF/NIST 800-53 Rev 5 and related compliance.
• Experience with SIEM, vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead secure cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
• Implement and validate NIST 800-53 security controls and cloud-native services.
• Conduct cloud threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews.
• Oversee cloud configuration baselines using STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, SCAP.
• Drive cloud vulnerability and compliance using ACAS/Nessus and cloud security tools.
• Support RMF engineering activities including authorization packages.
• Guide DevSecOps teams on secure CI/CD and IaC validation.
• Produce cloud architecture diagrams and engineering artifacts.
• Mentor junior ISSEs and act as escalation point.
