Peraton Labs, Inc. is hiring an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to be the single point of contact for Covered California.

You will lead a senior security team spanning governance, engineering, incident response, and risk management to ensure continuous compliance with NIST SP 800-53 Rev.5 and IRS 1075 controls. You will collaborate with the California CISO, project teams, and stakeholders to maintain a highly secure environment for health and financial data, while driving risk-based

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information technology, or engineering.
• 12+ years in progressively responsible cybersecurity roles.
• Active CISSP or CISM certification.
• Experience with NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls in a complex enterprise.
• Experience owning a risk register and POA&Ms in an enterprise GRC tool.
• Ability to brief cybersecurity risk credibly to technical and executive audiences.
• US Citizenship and ability to pass California background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security team and coordinate day-to-day activities across seven service areas.
• Serve as the primary client security liaison with Covered California and stakeholders.
• Own the compliance and GRC engine, manage policies, standards, and risk artifacts.
• Drive risk down to closure with POA&Ms and remediation tracking.
• Serve as backup incident manager and coordinate investigations and reporting.
• Coordinate security architecture reviews across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Coordinate independent assessments and penetration testing logistics while preserving assessor independence.
