Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an ISSE II to protect mission-critical information systems on the NISSC 3 program. You will analyze, design, and implement security controls, perform risk assessments, and support A&A activities while leading cybersecurity integration across complex systems.

The role requires DoD RMF/NIST experience, DoD 8140 certification, and an active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility. A strong focus on collaboration with engineering and management teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, IS, or related field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
• At least one qualifying DoD 8140 certification (e.g., CCSP, Cloud+, CSC, GSEC).

Responsibilities

• Ensure AIS and network nodes are operated, maintained, and secured.
• Analyze, design, and implement technical security controls for RMF, NIST, and DoD requirements.
• Perform configuration, vulnerability, and risk assessments for systems and infrastructure.
• Configure and validate security tools to monitor and protect against threats.
• Support A&A packages, including SSPs and POA&Ms.
• Develop security reports, threat analyses, and risk summaries for leadership.
• Collaborate to ensure cybersecurity requirements are met during design, development, test, and deployment.
