Job summary

Lomax Junior High in La Porte, TX, seeks an Aide, ISS (In-School Suspension) to assist teachers with lesson preparation, manage activities, and support behavior programs. You will work with individual students or small groups under the supervision of a certified teacher and the principal, helping implement classroom plans and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid SBEC Educational Aide certificate.
• Associate degree or 48+ college hours or NCLB ParaEducator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements.
• Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management and instruction.
• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher(s).
• Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.
