Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is actively seeking Inside/Outside Plant Laborers to join our team. We value dedicated, hardworking individuals with mechanical aptitude who can perform in a field setting.

Responsibilities include installing telecom cabling in commercial and residential builds, and working on aerial spans to diagnose or repair equipment. Training is available if needed, with a focus on safety and reliable service.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, drug test, and DOT physical exam required.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck up to 40 feet.
• Telecommunications experience preferred, but WILL TRAIN.
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
• High school diploma or GED.

What You’ll Do

• Install telecommunications cabling through commercial and residential units


• Working on aerial spans to diagnose, repair or replace the customer’s equipment as needed.


• Data collection and test procedures.


• Fire caulking, air sealing and waterproofing work completed.

What You’ll Need

• Successful completion of pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, drug test, and DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card


• A valid, unrestricted driver’s license


• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet


• Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)


• High school diploma or GED


• Work aloft up to 40 feet in a bucket truck or on a ladder


• Professional communication with customers and employees


• 1-2 years of Telecommunications experience preferred, but WILL TRAIN


• Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques


• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
