GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced ISP Laser Engineer in Shakopee, MN, onsite, to develop and optimize laser-based manufacturing processes for glass optical fibers used in high-performance fiber optic connectors for AI data centers.

You will collaborate with mechanical, controls, automation, and manufacturing teams to improve product quality, process efficiency, and production yield, while supporting development, testing, and qualification of laser processes and integrating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Physics, Optics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with industrial laser systems (fiber, CO2, solid-state, picosecond, femtosecond).
• Strong understanding of laser-material interactions, especially with glass and optical fibers.
• Experience transitioning laser processes from R&D to production.
• Knowledge of DoE, Six Sigma, SPC, and process capability analysis (Cpk).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and optimize laser processes for glass optical fiber preparation (coating removal, cleaving, end-face shaping).
• Conduct DoE to identify optimal laser processing parameters.
• Improve process quality, yield, and capability using Six Sigma and SPC.
• Integrate laser systems into automated manufacturing equipment.
• Select and evaluate lasers, optics, beam delivery systems, and related hardware.
• Perform process testing and validation using optical metrology equipment.
• Troubleshoot laser systems and manufacturing process issues.
• Prepare SOPs, process specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with laser equipment suppliers and ensure laser safety standards compliance.
