Job summary

Heniff Transportation Systems is seeking an Transportation Manager to oversee all transportation activities at an ISO Depot, driving business growth and customer satisfaction. The role involves supervising Driver Managers, dispatching, load planning, and ensuring DOT/OSHA compliance.

You will build strong customer relationships, coordinate with yard, shop, and wash leadership, and recruit and develop staff to meet performance targets. A flexible schedule and on-call availability are required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Driver Managers including ensuring accurate and efficient dispatching and load planning.
  • Develop relationships with customers, coordinate activities, resolve issues, and solicit work.
  • Monitor and train staff for consistent and efficient processes including proper dispatching.
  • Coordinate with yard, shop, and wash leadership to ensure timely execution of activities.
  • Ensure chassis and tractors are current with servicing and inspections.
  • Recruiting, hiring, termination of drivers and terminal staff.
  • Manage dispatch to identify resource and training needs.
  • Enforce safety rules per company and government regulations (DOT/OSHA).
  • Treat internal and external customers with courtesy and sound judgment.
  • Communicate with Sales on potential new customer opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Depot Manager.

Position Summary

Duties andResponsibilities:

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of5yearsrelevant experience

  • Staff supervision experience

  • Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations

  • Experience managing a location of similar scope

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to enter shop and tank wash environments (with proper safety gear) as needed to facilitate communications with those functions

  • Must be able to walk around the terminal facilities to facilitate security inspections and communicate with drivers or other visitors as needed

  • Long periods of sitting in front of a computer screen may be required

  • Occasionally required to stand, reach, bend and lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Work Environment:
  • The position typically operates in a standard office environment.

  • Thispositionroutinely usesoffice equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
