Job summary

Heniff Transportation Systems, LLC is seeking an ISO Tank Container Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair and refurbish ISO containers at our Missouri depot. The role requires hands-on precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work around heavy equipment.

You will perform in-service inspections, repair tank systems, and document all activities to regulatory standards (IMO, DOT). A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required, with preference for

• High school diploma or equivalent; Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in the container, transportation, or logistics industries.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic test, and in-service inspections on ISO containers to identify defects, damages, and necessary repairs.
• Identify and repair structural components such as frames, cladding panels, valves, gaskets, and seals to ensure the container’s integrity.
• Repair tank systems, including the piping, valves, and pressure relief devices on tank containers.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet industry standards, including International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations as well as recognized industry guidelines (ITCO).
• Perform pressure tests and leak check on containers carrying liquids or gases.
• Document all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed, ensuring accurate record keeping for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the workspace to promote efficiency and safety.
• Work closely with operations and quality assurance teams to ensure the timely and safe repair of containers.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to container maintenance and safety.
