Job Profile: Pipe Welder

Reports to: Site Superintendent or Foreman

Location: Central Region, Vicksburg, MS

We are a division of Ergon Construction Group, an Ergon, Inc. company. Our services include specialty trades (insulation, fireproofing, painting/coatings, scaffolding & heat tracing) in addition to our mechanical and civil capabilities.

Position Overview:

This support position at ISO Services involves the fabrication, installation, and repair of piping, structural steel, and associated equipment. The Pipe Welder will perform S.M.A.W. and G.T.A.W. welds that meet B31.1 and B31.3 ASME welding codes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain safe work habits at all times.
2. Follow policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other manuals.
3. Keep workspace clean and organized.
4. Develop positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, and associates.
5. Weld pipe and structural steel according to specifications.
6. Qualify for all ISO Services welding procedures.
7. Operate forklifts and specialized tools such as track torch, beveling torch, hand torch, and plasma arc.
8. Repair and service piping, tanks, boilers, and vessels.
9. Perform on-call duties as required.
10. Read and interpret blueprints.
11. Maintain a positive, professional attitude with customers.
12. Travel and stay overnight for extended periods as needed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Competencies:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Successful completion of ISO Services training programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift at least 50 lbs.
• Walk long distances and work in various environments (heat, cold, rain).
• Work at heights (no fear of heights).
• Physically able to work up to 84 hours per week if necessary.
• Stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, squat, reach, climb, and work in confined spaces.
• Maintain good grooming.

This position is based in Vicksburg, MS, with required travel. All hires are contingent upon passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
