Job summary

ON.energy in Houston, TX, seeks a Quality Management Systems Engineer - ISO 9001 to administer and advance the organization's ISO 9001:2015 QMS. The role focuses on configuring the QMS platform, developing workflows, and driving continual improvement across the equipment lifecycle for data center medium-voltage UPS systems.

The candidate will coordinate internal audits, liaison with external auditors, and implement policies with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or closely related field).
• 3-7 years' experience in Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 environment.
• Familiarity with electrical power systems, BESS, inverters, transformers, switchgear, or other similar equipment is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality analysis tools (CAPA, 8D, SPC, FMEA).
• Proficient with QMS Continual Improvement Tools and Processes (PDCA, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizan).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) platforms for ISO 9001 Certification.
• Proficient in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System clauses including Nonconformities, Audit Management, Management Reviews, Supplier/Customer Management, Change Management, Training, Calibration/Preventive Management.
• Hands-on experience implementing and administering an enterprise QMS platform (QT9, Octave Reliance - ETQ); QT9 experience highly regarded.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft platforms (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Planner) and AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini).
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Strong proficiency in Technical Writing for SOPs and Procedures for ISO 9001:2015.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification (CQE) with knowledge of ISO 9000/9001.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to vendor locations and project sites.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary system administrator for the organization's QMS platform, managing user accounts, roles, and permissions.
• Configure, maintain, and continually improve the QMS platform's modules, workflows, and automated notifications to support evolving quality processes.
• Project management and scheduling activities for a new enterprise QMS platform for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 9001:2026 Certification.
• Drive continual improvement through awareness, participation, collaboration, and one-QMS.
• Support the definition, documentation, and maintenance of quality processes in ISO 9001 compliance.
• Monitor performance metrics and report findings using the QMS dashboards and reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors during surveillance or recertification audits.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct internal quality audits to identify gaps and ensure adherence to standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and customers for process audits and alignment with ISO 9001.
• Provide training and track completion for QMS processes across the organization.
• Support data integration between QMS and ERP systems for seamless data flow.
