Job summary

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) seeks a Technical Assessor to support accreditation for CAP 15189 laboratories. You will participate in onsite/remote assessments, review documentation, and help ensure conformance to ISO 15189 and related standards.

Travel 50–75% is required; strong communication, analytical, and project-management skills are essential. ASCP MT/MLT or equivalent certification is preferred, with the ability to work with laboratories and leadership to drive continual

Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 15189 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience conducting external inspections or audits.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Assessor in managing accreditation for assigned laboratories.
• Attend initial conferences, outline program requirements and timelines.
• Provide technical input on findings and assist in nonconformity responses.
• Conduct assessments with ethical, diplomatic, and decisive approaches.
• Coordinate onsite or remote visits and complete post-visit documentation.
