Our direct client is seeking a skilled AS400 / iSeries System Administrator to support and maintain their existing systems. This role focuses on system administration—managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing AS400 environments, not programming.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain and support the AS400 / iSeries environment, including monitoring system performance and uptime.
2. Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support for infrastructure-related concerns.
3. Perform routine backups, system updates, and configuration changes as needed.
4. Collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure systems run efficiently and securely.
5. Document processes and contribute to best practices.

Qualifications

1. Proven experience as a System Administrator working with AS400 / iSeries systems.
2. Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of system operations.
3. Familiarity with backup strategies, performance monitoring, and general maintenance for iSeries environments.
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
