ISACA Los Angeles Chapter Event Project Coordinator (part-time)

The Los Angeles Chapter of ISACA is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the continued development and enhancement of the information systems audit, security and risk management profession by providing benefits to its members and to the professional community-at-large. The Los Angeles Chapter is the founding chapter of ISACA (formerly EDPAA) with about 1500 members.

The Los Angeles chapter is seeking a part-time chapter Event Project Coordinator to support our chapter events and conference. As the chapter’s Event Project Coordinator, you will play an integral role in coordinating activities to deliver chapter events and the annual conference successfully whether in person or virtually.

Executing at the highest level, the chapter event project coordinator ensures all touch points and experiences our leaders, members and strategic partners receive exemplifies our mission and core values.

An ideal candidate is responsible, efficient, clear communicator; organized, systematic, and process-oriented with strong project management skills; highly self-motivated and a self-starter with strong follow-through; trustworthy; resourceful; can find ways to make things happen and a friendly and professional individual who understands, has experience with and can handle the ebbs and flows of event activities. This person is a self-starter and enjoys event planning and management.

The duties can include the following (not an exhaustive list):

  • Event organization setup and support including obtaining and following-up on event and speaker required data.
  • Periodic onsite event support if required (e.g., setup and registration).
  • Project management support for the annual Spring Conference including coordinating planning meetings, providing updates, identifying and tracking action items to drive to successful delivery of the conference.
  • Follow-up with sub committees on actions to support the conference i.e. sponsorship, volunteers and marketing
  • Assist in content writing/editing for a variety of event promotion communications.
  • Event communication to member inquiries or triaging inquiries to the appropriate chapter leader.
  • Execute other projects/duties as directed by committee leaders and the officers of the board.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience.
  • Project management and/or event management experience is desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Professional, strong oral and written communication.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Able to work independently and productively.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours since most of the support is event-based; most of the work is remote (work from home) unless onsite support is required for a physical event; may include some evenings and weekends
  • Increasing support and hours commitment are required as the annual conference event date approaches including onsite support.
