Job summary

Job description

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for an LDAR Technician to join their safety conscious team at a customer site. The LDAR Technician identifies, documents, and tags fugitive emissions (gas leaks) from industrial components like valves and pumps, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations. They use specialized equipment such as Toxic Vapor Analyzers (TVAs/Method 21) or Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras to monitor, report, and facilitate repairs in refineries, chemical plants, and oil/gas sites. Compliance with company policies and maintaining good customer relations through quality, timely industrial cleaning services are essential.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT – Industrial setting: Refinery, Petro‑Chemical, Utilities, Pulp and Paper Mills, etc.

Work Schedule – Monday–Thursday 4/10s

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies and processes.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy objects.
  • Perform routine, scheduled inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect leaks of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers (e.g., Flame Ionization Detectors – FID).
  • Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases such as LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • TWIC, required.
  • Confined space entry & 10‑hour OSHA Training (preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, able to work independently; role is physically active and may require traveling to remote sites or working in loud industrial environments.
  • Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment (Nomex coveralls, back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, breathing mask, escape pack, hard hat).
  • Must be able to work under extreme climate conditions (heat index 95+ °F, 98% humidity, subzero weather).
  • Must withstand exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, exhaust and highly pressurized fluids.
  • Physical stamina: walk long distances, stand extended periods, climb ladders or scaffolding up to 300 ft, lift up to 50 lbs.
