Job summary

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking an LDAR Technician to join our safety‑driven team at a customer site. You will identify, document, and tag fugitive emissions from valves, pumps, and other components using TVAs or OGI cameras to monitor and report leaks and support repairs in refinery and chemical environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • TWIC required.
  • Confined space entry & 10‑hour OSHA training preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and PPE.
  • Ability to work under extreme climate conditions (high heat index, high humidity, sub‑zero weather).
  • Physical stamina: walking long distances, standing for extended periods, climbing ladders/scaffolding (sometimes up to 300 ft), and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, procedures, and acting safely.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy objects.
  • Perform routine inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect leaks of VOCs.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers (e.g., Flame Ionization Detectors - FID).
  • Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases such as LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.

Job description

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for an LDAR Technician to join their safety conscious team at a customer site. The LDAR Technician identifies, documents, and tags fugitive emissions (gas leaks) from industrial components such as valves and pumps, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations. They use specialized equipment—such as Toxic Vapor Analyzers (TVAs/Method 21) or Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras—to monitor, report, and facilitate repairs in refineries, chemical plants, and oil/gas sites. They ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and maintain good customer relations by providing quality, timely industrial cleaning services.

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers (e.g., Flame Ionization Detectors - FID).
  • Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases such as LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.
