Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking a software engineer to join the analytics activation team. You will analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications, delivering API-enabled apps with event-driven architecture and robust production support.

Role requires 5+ years of Java development, SQL with Oracle/Snowflake, and experience with DevSecOps and Kubernetes. Strong agile collaboration and a learning mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5+ years of development experience using Java.
• Ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures; knowledge of Oracle and Snowflake.
• 2+ years of production support, infrastructure engineering or administration experience.
• Experience with DevSecOps and Kubernetes or other container-based deployment pipelines.

• Experience working on product teams and awareness of agile practices.

Role Overview

Our team directly supports analytics activation for the bank. Applications we support continue to significantly contribute to bank's top line. We use cloud native application practices and modern data approaches to deliver performant software used by all channels.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications.
• Provide technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.
• Work with technical tools available for systems development and support.
• Maintain awareness of technical industry trends as they apply to Huntington.
• Identify training needs or train less experienced staff.
• Serve as project leader for specific projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of development experience using Java, building API-enabled apps and event‑driven architecture.
• Ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures; knowledge of databases including Oracle and Snowflake.
• 2+ years of production support, infrastructure engineering or administration experience.
• Experience with or good working knowledge of DevSecOps, Kubernetes or other container‑based technologies including deployment pipelines.
• Learning mindset with openness to learn new technologies, build things and experiment.
• Experience working on product teams and awareness of agile practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with marketing applications or integration background.
• Previous architecture or tech‑lead experience.
• Deep knowledge of microservices patterns, Spring framework including Spring Boot and batch.
• Ability to balance both development and support roles.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, focus on customer service, and ability to work well with other IT, vendor, and business groups.
• Certifications such as cloud architect/engineer/developer are strongly preferred.

Additional Information

Exempt Status (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay, No = eligible for overtime pay).

Workplace Type: Office. Certain positions may be eligible for flexible work arrangements. Remote roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices. Specific arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.

Compensation Range: 70,000.00 – 140,000.00 USD Annual.
