Touchstone Mental Health in Minneapolis is seeking an IRTS Clinical Trainee – Two Rivers – to support residents receiving intensive rehabilitation services. The role focuses on planning, structure, and guidance to help residents develop coping strategies and independent living skills.

You will work a fixed schedule, conduct assessments, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with team members. A Master’s degree in a related field is required, with experience with adults with SPMI

Qualifications

  • Must meet the definition of Clinical Trainee per Department of Human Services licensing requirements.
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.
  • Experience working with adults with SPMI, chemical dependency issues, and co-occurring disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish supportive and motivational relationships with residents; coach residents to utilize coping strategies and complete activities of daily living; assist in the completion of independent living skills, and provide rehabilitative skills training.
  • Observe residents for changes in health symptoms; redirect maladaptive behaviors; perform behavioral management interventions; and de-escalate mental health crises.
  • Complete diagnostic assessments, functional assessments and intake interviews for new clients and complete program orientation.
  • Develop discharge plans and complete the discharge process with clients exiting the program.
  • Meet daily with clients individually or in group settings to support client goals and needs for managing their illness.
  • Perform delegated nursing services, including the administration of medications, as unlicensed personnel under the direction of the nursing staff.
  • Maintain client records in an electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns, and/or volunteers.

Clinical Trainee

  • Starting Pay: $68,000, based on qualifications
  • Locations: Two Rivers (Minneapolis)
  • Schedule: Mondays 3:00pm to 11:00pm and Tuesdays through Fridays 8:00am to 4:00pm

TMH’s Clinical Trainees provide planning, structure, and guidance to residents receiving intensive rehabilitation treatment services.

Clinical Trainee Responsibilities:

  • Establish supportive and motivational relationships with residents; coach residents to utilize coping strategies and complete activities of daily living; assist in the completion of independent living skills, and provide rehabilitative skills training.
