Job summary

A leading landscaping services company is seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to maintain and repair irrigation systems for commercial landscapes. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and a minimum of 2 years of experience with irrigation systems. Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience with commercial irrigation systems.
• Must have an offense-free valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain commercial irrigation systems.
• Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems.
• Lift and carry items weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
• Communicate effectively and report results to the Irrigation Manager.

Job description

Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining commercial irrigation systems to designated landscaped areas to maintain or improve the condition of the plant materials or turf.

• Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems
• Work independently or with others under little or no supervision
• Maintain current, accurate records of products used, problems encountered, or other information essential to the job
• Lift and carry items weighing in excuses of 50 lbs
• Maintain and safely operate various equipment
• Communicate well with others and follow both written and verbal instructions
• Must have a willingness to work long hours and a varying schedule
• Must be willing to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions
• Installing systems and ensuring that they function efficiently
• Repairing and maintaining valves, tracing electrical components, installing and initializing clocks and timers, locating existing zones and valves and performing pump repairs
• Adhering to Company’s safety policy and ensuring that the public will be safe while in contact with crews
• Ensuring that customers are satisfied completely through effective communication, relationship building and regular site visits
• Reporting results to Irrigation Manager

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required
• At least one year experience or a minimum of a two-year degree in a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with commercial irrigation systems
• Strong work ethic
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with customer service
• Knowledge of two-wire systems
• Must have offense free valid driver license
• Salary - $1050/week ($54,600 annually) based on certification/licensure
