Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining commercial irrigation systems to designated landscaped areas to maintain or improve the condition of the plant materials or turf.
Responsibilities
- Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems
- Work independently or with others under little or no supervision
- Maintain current, accurate records of products used, problems encountered, or other information essential to the job
- Lift and carry items weighing in excuses of 50 lbs
- Maintain and safely operate various equipment
- Communicate well with others and follow both written and verbal instructions
- Must have a willingness to work long hours and a varying schedule
- Must be willing to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions
- Installing systems and ensuring that they function efficiently
- Repairing and maintaining valves, tracing electrical components, installing and initializing clocks and timers, locating existing zones and valves and performing pump repairs
- Adhering to Company’s safety policy and ensuring that the public will be safe while in contact with crews
- Ensuring that customers are satisfied completely through effective communication, relationship building and regular site visits
- Reporting results to Irrigation Manager
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required
- At least one year experience or a minimum of a two-year degree in a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with commercial irrigation systems
- Strong work ethic
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with customer service
- Knowledge of two-wire systems
- Must have offense free valid driver license
- $21.00 - $30.00 per hour or salaried equivalent based on experience and licenses/certifications
