Job summary

The City and County of Denver’s Parks and Recreation department seeks an Irrigation Technician to monitor, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems across park properties. Ideal candidates bring irrigation system experience, the ability to read drawings, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
• Experience: One (1) year of experience maintaining and repairing commercial, agricultural, or related irrigation systems
• Licensures/Certification(s): Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems for park properties, including programming irrigation systems to achieve efficiency
• Read irrigation drawings and perform construction and maintenance/repair of parts on equipment
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs including estimating materials, labor, time, and cost of repairs
• Operate and maintain lightweight vehicles and equipment
• Maintain irrigation and sprinkler systems for seasonal use
• Participate in snow removal and other park maintenance duties as needed
