Job description

We are hiring immediately for a full-time Irrigation Technician II position.

Location: TAMU Tarleton Gr - 503 North Neblett Avenue, Stephenville, TX 76401. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Requirements: 2 years of irrigation repair experience and a valid irrigation technician license.

Pay Range: $17.50 - $20.50 per hour

Job Summary

Performs routine irrigation management tasks including digging, pipe repair, head/valve replacement, and small equipment operation. Uses math and estimation skills for irrigation audits and calibration.

Essential Duties

1. Repairs underground sprinkler and drip systems.
2. Adjusts spray heads for proper coverage.
3. Implements and adjusts irrigation schedules.
4. Replaces malfunctioning valves and pressure control devices.
5. Replaces PVC lateral lines and water supply lines.
6. Inspects and tests irrigation systems for malfunctions and coverage.
7. Installs new systems and modifies existing ones.
8. Prepares sites with trenching or hand digging.
9. Operates equipment like trenchers or small tractors.
10. Maintains records of work performed.
11. Mitigates safety hazards related to irrigation.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two years of irrigation repair experience.
• Valid State Irrigation Technician License.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate irrigation equipment.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds repeatedly and kneel/bend/stoop for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• Extensive driving, walking, and equipment operation.
• Exposure to weather, pesticides, fertilizers, pollen, paint, and petroleum products.
• Physical labor constitutes about 90% of the work, with 10% for training and miscellaneous tasks.
