Irrigation Technician - (Houston, TX / Multiple Locations)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for inspections and repairs of all parts of the commercial irrigation system. Ability to determine proper materials for new irrigation systems and install them according to manufacturer’s instructions. Ability to operate all equipment necessary to install and repair commercial irrigation systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Adhere to company safety regulations
• Understanding of irrigation parts and terminology
• Replace and adjust spray heads and rotors
• Replace and adjust irrigation valves
• Inspect equipment to ensure it is in working order
• Monitor and maintain inventory of irrigation supplies
• Installation of landscaping drainage
• Complete irrigation inspections, mapping, and reports
• Repair and install PVC and RVC up to 3”
• Operate and adjust irrigation controller to meet property needs
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues
• Understand and install drip irrigation
• Safely operate a trencher and backfill soil for irrigation repairs

Experience

• At least two years of commercial irrigation experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
License or Certification

• Valid driver license issued by the state of Texas a plus
• Licensed irrigator in the state of Texas a plus

Specialized Skills

• Sense of urgency to complete a job in a timely manner
• Effective oral and written communication
• Ability to multitask and manage more than one job at a time
• Ability to work alone and manage time efficiently
• Organizational skills
• Basic understanding of Outlook email system
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Dependable and reliable attendance for daily assignments

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Most work will be done in an outside setting in all seasons of the year
• May work with low voltage electrical
• Regularly work with mechanical objects
• Frequent 8–10-hour work days
• Must have complete use of hands to operate tools
• Must be able to see up close or from distance with or without the aid of eyeglasses
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
• Must be able to bend, reach, climb, and balance
• May be required to lift or move objects of 25-50 pounds
