Key Responsibilities of the Irrigation Technician:

• Perform preventative maintenance on the irrigation system, including the lake re-circulation system and water features.
• Determine wet and dry areas for sprinkler head adjustments.
• Properly inventory and stock all irrigation parts and tools to minimize downtime.
• Maintain knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements.
• Operate, maintain, and repair complex irrigation systems, including leaks, distribution lines, valve risers, electrical systems, and control wires.
• Report serious irrigation breaks immediately to the Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and maintain a daily repair log.
• Prioritize irrigation repairs and use time efficiently.
• Conduct monthly checks of all sprinkler heads across the golf facility.
• Inspect irrigation system components regularly to ensure proper operation.
• Handle winterization and blowout of irrigation systems, including water lines, valves, and pump stations.
• Incorporate safe work practices in all tasks.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; college or technical certification preferred, or 3-6 months related experience or training.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Other Qualifications:

• Experience in golf course maintenance and irrigation is a major plus.
• Knowledge of pumping stations, control systems, electrical diagnostics, and central operations.
• Reliable attendance is essential.
