Responsibilities

  • Install new irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip systems, valves, controllers, and piping, based on project specifications.
  • Regularly inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems to ensure they are functioning optimally, making repairs and adjustments as needed.
  • Identify issues such as leaks, clogs, broken components, or electrical faults and make appropriate repairs or replacements.
  • Recommend and implement system upgrades or modifications to improve system performance or adapt to changing property needs.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including installation details, repairs made, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations related to irrigation system installation and repair, including safe use of tools and equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest irrigation technology and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional training or certifications in irrigation or related fields (e.g., Irrigation Association Certification) preferred.
  • Proven experience as an irrigation technician or in a similar field. Experience with a variety of irrigation systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems, components, and water conservation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools related to irrigation work.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems (controllers, timers, wiring).
  • Strong communication skills, especially when working with clients or team members.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
