Job description

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining commercial irrigation systems in designated landscaped areas to maintain or improve the condition of the plant materials or turf.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems
• Work independently or with others under little or no supervision
• Maintain current, accurate records of products used, problems encountered, or other information essential to the job
• Lift and carry items weighing in excess of 50 lbs
• Maintain and safely operate various equipment
• Communicate well with others and follow both written and verbal instructions
• Must have a willingness to work long hours and a varying schedule
• Must be willing to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions
• Install systems and ensure that they function efficiently
• Repair and maintain valves, trace electrical components, install and initialize clocks and timers, locate existing zones and valves, and perform pump repairs
• Adhere to the Company’s safety policy and ensure that the public is safe while in contact with crews
• Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication, relationship building, and regular site visits
• Report results to the Irrigation Manager

Qualifications:

• High school degree or GED required
• At least one year of experience or a minimum of a two-year degree in a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with commercial irrigation systems
• Strong work ethic
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with customer service
• Knowledge of two-wire systems
• Must have an offense-free valid driver’s license
