Job summary

Westco Grounds Maintenance, LLC is seeking an Irrigation Field Supervisor to lead irrigation crews across commercial and HOA sites. You will manage daily routes, coordinate scheduling, perform quality checks, and ensure compliance with safety and water-use regulations.

In this exempt, on-site role you will balance hands-on troubleshooting with crew leadership, communicate with customers on-site, and maintain equipment and field data in our service software. A license and driving record required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of irrigation installation, service, or maintenance experience; 1+ years in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Licensed Irrigator by TCEQ or willing to obtain your License within 1 year.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with on-site diagnostics and common irrigation troubleshooting techniques.

Title: Irrigation Field Supervisor

Position Summary

The Irrigation Field Supervisor leads and oversees irrigation crews responsible for the inspections, proposals and repairs as needed. Primarily Commercial and HOA irrigation systems. This role is responsible for daily crew management, route and job scheduling, on-site quality control, equipment upkeep, and ensuring all work meets company standards, safety requirements, and local water-use regulations. The Irrigation Field Supervisor acts as the primary point of accountability in the field, balancing hands-on technical troubleshooting with crew leadership and customer communication.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct daily activities of irrigation technicians and crew members across multiple job sites
  • Assign daily routes and job tickets based on crew skill level, certifications, and job complexity
  • Train new technicians on system diagnostics, repair procedures, and company safety standards
  • Conduct on-site quality checks and spot audits to confirm work meets company and manufacturer standards
  • Address crew performance issues, coach on technique, and escalate personnel matters as needed
  • Diagnose and resolve complex irrigation system issues that crews are unable to troubleshoot independently
  • Review and approve controller programming, zone configurations, and seasonal run-time adjustments
  • Ensure proper execution of seasonal startups, winterizations, and system audits across all assigned routes
  • Verify repairs are diagnosed and completed correctly the first time to minimize callbacks
  • Build and adjust daily/weekly routes to minimize drive time and maximize technician productivity
  • Prioritize and reassign emergency service calls (main line breaks, no-water situations) in real time
  • Coordinate with the scheduling/dispatch team on job durations, parts needs, and customer availability
  • Ensure trucks, trailers, and diagnostic equipment (locators, multimeters, pressure gauges) are maintained and in working order
  • Manage parts inventory and stock levels across crews
  • Track equipment repair needs and remove unsafe equipment from rotation
  • Communicate directly with customers on-site regarding system findings, repairs, and recommendations
  • Ensure all work complies with State and local Standards
  • Document site visits, repairs, and system conditions in the company's field service software
  • Report safety incidents, property damage, or customer concerns to management promptly
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of irrigation installation, service, or maintenance experience; 1+ years in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • Working knowledge of irrigation system design, hydraulics, controller programming, and common troubleshooting
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to train and manage a technical crew
  • Proficiency with mobile field service software, tablets, or similar route/ticketing systems
  • Licensed Irrigator by TCEQ or willing to obtain your License within 1 year
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly works outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and digging; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable operating hand tools and light power equipment trenchers and hand tools
  • Extended periods of driving between job sites throughout the workday
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and working near roadways or active landscape equipment

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
