Position Overview
The Irrigation Driver plays an essential role in supporting our irrigation teams by transporting crew members, equipment, and materials to and from job sites safely and efficiently. Beyond driving, this position actively supports irrigation tasks, including digging trenches, installing irrigation lines, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work outdoors, has experience towing trailers, and is eager to support a collaborative team environment.

Job Duties

  1. Driving & Transportation
    1. Safely operate company vehicles and trailers to transport irrigation crews, tools, and materials.
    2. Ensure punctual and accurate delivery and pickup according to daily schedules.
    3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and trailers.
    4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; promptly report any vehicle issues.
  2. Irrigation Support
    1. Assist crews in loading/unloading irrigation equipment and materials.
    2. Perform manual labor including trenching, digging with a shovel, and basic irrigation installations.
    3. Run errands to suppliers or vendors as directed by the Irrigation Supervisor or Fleet Manager.
    4. Maintain organization and cleanliness of yard, warehouse, and storage areas.
  3. Safety & Maintenance
    1. Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws.
    2. Secure all materials and equipment safely during transportation.
    3. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of irrigation tools and equipment.
    4. Immediately notify supervisors of maintenance needs or safety incidents.

Qualifications

  1. Valid Texas Driver’s License with clean driving record (no accidents in past 5 years required)
  2. Proven experience safely operating pickup trucks and towing trailers
  3. High School diploma or equivalent
  4. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, digging, working outdoors)
  5. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  6. Previous irrigation or landscaping experience preferred
