Scope/Position Summary

The paramedic is responsible for providing a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities as supervised and directed by the RN. Care is provided in collaboration and under the guidance of the ED attending physician and in conjunction with the nurses in the ED with the patient, family, and other members of the patient-focused care team. Overall responsibilities are to assist the team in meeting patient care needs.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: High School Graduate or GED certificate required, Paramedic-Advanced Certification required. Experience in an acute care environment is preferred.

Ongoing: Demonstrated competence to meet essential job functions. Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement, cost reduction, and current policies, procedures, and protocols.
