Job summary

Clarkson Construction Company is seeking an Iron Worker to assemble, install, and reinforce structural steel for major infrastructure projects across the Midwest. You will read blueprints, rig and hoist steel, align connections, and help ensure safety and structural integrity on bridges and roadways.

This full-time union role requires welding and cutting skills, rigging knowledge, working at heights outdoors, and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety protocols on busy construction sites.

Qualifications

  • Experience on heavy civil construction preferred.
  • Welding and rigging skills required.
  • Ability to work at heights outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, position, and secure structural steel components.
  • Assemble and install steel frames, beams, and girders.
  • Place and secure reinforcing steel bars in concrete forms.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Perform welding to join steel components.
  • Operate hoisting and rigging equipment safely.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe site.
