Ironworker Foreman/Leaderman - Gulf Marine Repair

Gulf Marine Repair has immediate openings for Ironworker Forman/Leadman. Successful candidate will lead a crew of skilled trade personnel in the fabrication and/or repair on commercial vessels and ships.

Job Description

Must have the following in order to apply:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three (3) years shipyard experience
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

Preferred Skills:

Supervisory experience

Job Description:

The successful candidates will:

* Oversee the work of fitters, welders, tackers and helpers.
* Work with job Superintendent to establish manpower requirements.
* Establish job assignment priority with Production Manager.
* Provide employees with job assignments.
* Monitor production to ensure quality, scheduling and cost objectives are being met.

Qualified candidates will have:

* 3-5 years of experience in the shipyard industry or similar industry.
* Be computer literate
* Understand and follow all Safety and Corporate Rules, Regulations and Policies.
* Have good organizational skills and communication skills.
* Good attendance record.
* Working knowledge in:

o ABS Rules & Regulations
o USCG Rules & Regulations
o AWS Welding Rules
o ASTM/ASME codes

Work Environment:
Outdoors. Work in confined spaces, in the elements, aboard shipyard vessels, in the shop, and travel outside the facilities to other local ports in the area via company truck.

Employer will conduct a face-to-face interview.
