Austin Industrial is seeking an Ironworker/Fabricator in Decatur, IL to raise, place and unite girders and structural steel. On-site, full-time with safety and quality as top priorities.

Minimum of 4 years progressive experience in the ironworker craft; NCCER and Advanced Rigging preferred. Requires ability to read blueprints, work with hoisting equipment, and perform precise alignment and bolting/welding of structures.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Fluent English required for safety and communication.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Summary

Performs duties to raise, place and unite girders, columns and other structural steel members to form completed structures or structure framework. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Must have a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in the Industrial Ironworker craft. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and selects requiredmaterial for construction.
• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Depending on the job site, certain certificates or licenses may be required. NCCER and Advanced Rigging Preferred.

Other Qualifications - It may be necessary to travel or commute for this position.
