LPR Construction Co. in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Apprentice Ironworker to learn structural iron and steel erection under supervision, completing tasks safely and efficiently.

You will work from blueprints, unload and position iron, bolt-up components, perform detail work, deck laying, and progress toward Journeyman status via self-study and hands-on practice.

Qualifikationen

• Must meet physical requirements: working at heights up to 60', long periods of standing, bending, climbing, welding, using hand tools, exposure to weather.
• Requires wearing safety harness and tool belt.

Aufgaben

• Unload, shake-out and erection of structural and miscellaneous iron from trucks to designated areas.
• Bolt-up columns, beams, and girders with bolts per blueprints and supervisor instructions.
• Detail work including installing angle and bent plate, welding clips, joists, tube steel or angle kickers; install safety cable and posts; shake out and spread joists and long spans.
• Lay deck and weld with Tek Screws.
• Pull, push, or pry structural-steel members into position for bolting.
• Complete apprentice self-study modules until Journeyman certification.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Under supervision, the Apprentice Ironworker is responsible for completing tasks related to structural iron and steel erection and completing the tasks in a timely, quality manner while learning trade and practicing/studying to become Journeyman level.

Required Experience

• Unloading, shake-out and erection of structural and miscellaneous iron from trucks to designated areas and/or from one area to another.
• Bolt-up columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
• Detail Work may include installing angle and bent plate, welding clips, joists, tube steel or angle kickers; installing safety cable and safety posts; or shaking out and spreading joists and long spans.
• Laying deck and welding with Tek Screws.
• Pull, push, or pry structural-steel members into approximate positions for bolting into place.
• Complete apprentice self -study modules until Journeyman certification is obtained
• Perform related duties as assigned
