Job summary

We seek an experienced ironworker to position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form complete frameworks.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up hoisting equipment, aligning structures, and bolting components together.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with layout, connecting and rigging.
• Ability to work at all heights.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret symbols and abbreviations on plans and drawings.
• Prior rigging experience to include knowledge of hand signals, rigging gear, inspection and proper use.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Safety policies and procedures and report accidents and near misses.
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members and hoist beams, girders, and columns into place.
• Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and correct erected structures as needed.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using bolts, nuts, washers and torqueing.

Position Summary:

An ironworker is responsible for safely positioning and uniting steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members. Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes, using hand signals and tag lines.
• Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and make corrections to erected structures as needed.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts, nuts, washers and torqueing.

Qualifications:
