Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a Patient Assessment Standards Coordinator to ensure accurate clinical data and compliance with IRF-PAI requirements. You will lead data extraction, educate staff on documentation, and coordinate timely Medicare submissions.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified clinician in healthcare (RN, LPN, PT, PTA, OT, COTA, SLP, Recreational Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, case manager/social worker) is required.
• QI Credentialed is preferred.
• UDS IRF PPS Certification after 2 years in the PASC role is expected.
• Ability to perform assessments and have 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking abilities.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to high-quality patient assessments is essential.

Responsibilities

• Extract and ensure accurate data from clinical documentation.
• Coordinate timely submission of data for Medicare patients.
• Educate and support staff on proper documentation.
• Serve as primary resource for problem-solving related to Quality Indicator coding and IRF-PAI completion.
• Improve processes for QI coding and data collection for IRF-PAI.
• Ensure IRF-PAI data is entered and transmitted to CMS/UDS on schedule.
• Review and collect data on each patient for IRF-PAI completion.
• Collaborate with team to identify comorbidities or CMG/RIC categories.
• Ensure discharged records contain required elements and complete chart audits for CMS transmission.

Education

Licensed or certified clinician in healthcare (RN, LPN, PT, PTA, OT, COTA, SLP, Recreational Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, case manager/social worker)

QI Credentialed

Obtain UDS IRF PPS Certification after 2 years in the PASC role

Ability to perform assessments

1 year of healthcare experience

Effective oral and written communication skills

Strong organizational and critical thinking abilities

Detail-oriented and capable of meeting deadlines independently
