Work Location:Anaheim, CA.

Term:Full-time, occasional evening and weekends required

Position Status:Non-Exempt - Temporary for one year or to the end of June 30, 2025.

Pay Range:$30.00 - $35.00 an hour, commensurate with experience.

Reports to: Immigrants' Rights Senior Managing Attorney

About the Role:CAIR-CA provides legal immigration services to refugees, asylum seekers, and the diverse immigrant community in California through our Immigrants' Rights Center (IRC).The Resource Navigator will report to the Legal Resource Case Manager and is primarily responsible for case management support by providing wraparound services to clients and administrative support to our legal staff. This person has excellent time management skills and experience working with a diverse set of clients. The Resource Navigator supports the IRC team by providing referrals to our clients, handling daily administrative tasks, and non-legal client communications.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee Resource Navigators' and Case Worker's task and caseload.
  • Train and mentor resource navigators and case workers on case management and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain a reasonable case management caseload.
  • Assess client's legal and social service's needs.
  • Provide clients with reference to legal and social services.
  • Take the lead with establishing, maintaining, and a referral database of various social services and legal services for the client.
  • Help clients apply or access social services benefits as needed.
  • Assist staff with communication and correspondence with clients.
  • Provide translation and interpretation services as needed.
  • Conduct case management intakes.
  • Manage the gathering and maintaining of client data for grant and CAIR reports.
  • Assist with planning community outreach and participate in Know Your Rights & Immigration Benefit presentations or/and webinars that include access to non-legal resources.
  • Attend training and professional development opportunities related to case management as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with resettlement agencies on behalf of CAIR and its clients.
  • Occasional evenings and weekend work required.
  • Occasional travel to assist client and outreach that include participating in community events.
  • All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, fundraising, job recruitment, and other office tasks as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with grant management and reports.
  • Fluent in Dari, Pashto, Spanish, or Arabic in both written and oral communication preferred.
  • Two years' experience in social work is preferred.
  • Experience in providing interpretation and translation services is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in operations or administrative coordination.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with assisting the immigrant and refugee community with legal and social services.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations and the Muslim community.
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and/or non-profit organizations preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, time management skills and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to interface with community members, clients, and potential clients with a high degree of professionalism and care.
  • Personal accountability and ability to take the initiative and direction.
  • Access to a working vehicle and the ability to drive throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.
  • A strong commitment to civil rights and CAIR's mission.
