Title: IR Technologist
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15219
Schedule: (4) 10‑hour shifts, on‑call requirements during the week, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation: $29.19 – $45.45 hourly based on experience; sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 with a 2‑year commitment; relocation assistance $3,000 – $5,000; $9,000 student loan assistance for graduates after 12/2023.

Overview
Our client, an esteemed medical facility, is seeking an IR Technologist to administer contrast in accordance with assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist and demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.
Responsibilities
- Administer contrast in accordance with assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.
- Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures. Exhibit a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems.
- Identify all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures. Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Document patient history in electronic record as required.
- Foster an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and patient safety with the incorporation of a time‑out process.
- Communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, explain procedures to allay patient fears and solicit cooperation.
- Ensure all exams within the area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.
- Demonstrate strong ability to interact with both patients and co‑workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect. Work as a team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
- Support other departments performing general radiographic procedures, if needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an equivalent program.
- IR Tech Advanced level: Completion of formal training in an IR‑related program accredited by the ARRT. Two years IR experience required.
- CPR or BLS required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
- Act 33 with renewal.
- Act 34 with renewal.
