Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Roanoke is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform complex imaging procedures for patient diagnostics. The role requires a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program with strong technical skills and A.R.R.T. certification. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care across various patient demographics and participating in the training of new staff.

As ordered by physician, performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, and initiative in the utilization of complex equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic and acute diseases. Provides care and services to patients of all ages.

  • Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriate care for all patients served.
  • Operates complex radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment for vascular and invasive radiography. Performs quality control checks on equipment and various support devices. Assists physician during sterile diagnostic or invasive radiological procedures.
  • Evaluates and positions patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety. Observes patients for adverse reactions and assists in aid when necessary. Observes physiological monitor and vital signs.
  • Prepares patients of all ages for examination and explains procedures. Evaluates lab results, patient history and relays to physician. Records and maintains all procedural data.
  • Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
  • Performs lab tests as appropriate for the area.
  • Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
  • Maintains ARRT registry by obtaining required CEU's. Maintains CPR certification. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.
What We Require:


Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Experience: Experience in Interventional Radiology preferred.

Licensure/Certification: A.R.R.T. registered. AHA BLS-HCP required.

Other: Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments. Knowledge and prior use of computers.
