The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to set up interventional radiology rooms for study-specific exams and to interact with patients and families to foster a caring visit. You will handle imaging, fluoroscopy, and post-processing tools while maintaining patient safety and record accuracy.

Minimum formal training in radiologic technology is required, with 1 year of experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted.
  • Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit.
  • Progresses towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing tools.
  • Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
  • Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce a high quality image.

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted.
  • Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit.
  • Progresses towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
  • Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce a high quality image.
  • Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
  • Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
  • Observes each patient’s status and interprets appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs.
  • Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transferboards, hover mats.
  • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to PACS system correctly.
  • Completes and bills for studies accurately.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist - current NYS licensure upon hire required and ARRT Radiography Certification with CE credits upon hire required
