Interventional Radiology Opportunities

Our Interventional Radiology department is fast-paced and involves high-acuity patients. We foster an environment supportive of learning, mentoring, and growth. Responsibilities include pre, intra, and post-procedure care for various medical conditions in a minimally invasive, radiologic imaging setting, with an average of 30 cases per day. This role is ideal for nurses seeking a niche specialty.

Job Summary

As an Interventional Radiology RN, you will deliver patient care utilizing nursing expertise, evaluate health status, develop care plans, and track treatment responses to ensure safe navigation through healthcare processes. You will also help prevent issues by understanding patient needs.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize patient and family needs, develop and evaluate care plans, and adjust as necessary.
• Create a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, maintaining confidentiality and voicing concerns when needed.
• Manage education for patients and families, support nursing staff growth, and promote knowledge sharing.
• Partner effectively with team members and the community to implement cohesive care plans.
• Recognize resource limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
• Support professional growth and participation in continued education and community service.

Key Success Factors

• Basic understanding of interventional radiology nursing practices, medical terminology, medications, and equipment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to monitor health changes and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Basic computer skills, including electronic medical records and email.

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license with at least 2 years of experience, including 1-2 years in ICU and/or ED.
• BLS certification (within 30 days of hire).
• ACLS certification (within 30 days of hire).
