Job summary

Inland Imaging Clinical Associates seeks an Authorization Specialist - IR to fill in for vacations and sick calls at the Holy Family Outpatient Interventional Center. Monday to Friday day shift, with a 12% supplemental differential.

The role coordinates, authorizes, and schedules interventional procedures in a courteous, professional manner and interacts with radiologists, patients, and billing to ensure timely authorizations and patient care.

Qualifications

• Three years of medical office experience.
• Knowledge of IR procedures and CPT/ICD9 codes preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly confidential.

Responsibilities

• Obtains insurance authorization and/or verification from payers for interventional procedures.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and referrals for visits/procedures.
• Coordinates with billing regarding codes and authorizations.
• Coordinates peer-to-peer discussions between radiologists and insurance medical directors.
• Submits clinical documents and information for appeals.
• Schedules vein procedures including pre-op instructions and prep.
