Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an IPv6 Cloud Architect to join our team! The Cloud Architect will create and execute cloud computing strategies by designing, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure and assets to support the USCIS IPv6 migration objectives. As the Cloud Architect, you will be an integral part of the USCIS IPv6 technology team. You will be responsible for ensuring all project deliverables are completed on time and exceed client expectations.
This position is fully remote.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with agency cloud stakeholders to perform network updates to IP-connected cloud systems (VMs, containers, databases...).
- Develop and execute large-scale IPv6 introduction and transition procedures across AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments.
- Engage cloud providers to remedy deficiencies in IPv6 support across platform components and configurations.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), FISMA, NIST 800-53, Section 508, and accessibility requirements when networks and systems are transitioned from IPv4 to dual-stack/IPv6-only.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to update systems and network configurations to execute on time-sensitive transition schedules.
- Serve as an expert advisory resource to provide IPv6-specific guidance to cloud and engineering teams unfamiliar with the protocol.
- Perform application troubleshooting, applying manufacturer-recommended and agency-approved remediation.
- Maintain continuous compliance with Agency Security Standards, resolve deficiencies, and implement emergency fixes and enhancements.
- Manage and maintain four distinct sub-environments: Production, Pre-Production, Development, and Accreditation.
- Create and maintain documentation including Cloud Hosting Services Description Document, Environment Validation Report, etc.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- 5+ years of extensive experience in cloud engineering, networking, system administration, and security compliance.
- Proficiency in AWS services including VPC Peering, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, EC2, and ECS/EKS.
- Experience implementing dual-stack and IPv6-only architectures in security-sensitive production environments.
- Ability to lead technical planning for IPv6 transition initiatives in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform under pressure during live events.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with an analytical mindset.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (working exclusively within the U.S. is required).
