PIPEFITTER SENIOR CRAFT

Job Summary

Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of piping systems in plant maintenance and construction.

Typical Duties:

  1. Receives and understands instructions and prints regarding work assignment.
  2. Interprets drawings and sketches. Plans detail of working procedure and selects materials in accordance with engineering standards.
  3. Lays out work; calculates dimensions; makes sketches of piping systems when needed.
  4. Sets up and operates bending, threading, and cutoff equipment and uses hand tools or torch to shape, prepare, and fabricate pipe for work to be done.
  5. Tests, inspects, dismantles, repairs, replaces or installs any type of high or low pressure piping, tubing, fittings, fixtures, and parts for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipelines for air, water, steam, oils, gases, acid, caustics, etc.
  6. Assembles and tests a variety of piping components.
  7. Sets up for pipe for welded or special type joints.
  8. Fastens hangers and supports.
  9. Handles or makes provision for the handling of materials, equipment, and tools to and from the job site in shop or field in connection with work.
  10. Makes reports of work performed.
  11. Maintains good housekeeping.
  12. Identifies safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and takes all necessary corrective actions to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  13. Performs all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience. A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to complete the NCCER certification for your craft. Completed the Matrix Service C-Stop Plus Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and Client / Site specific training.
