Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Operate backhoe, excavator, dozer, loader, grader, dump truck, or trencher to dig holes and trenches, and to remove and transport earth, gravel, and other materials.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Work well with supervision.
  • Operate equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified dimensions and grade.
  • Work around existing underground utilities and in tight areas.
  • Understand shoring, soil classes, and dewatering.
  • Use equipment to remove loosened material and place it in piles or transport trucks.
  • Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions to eliminate or minimize risks.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervision.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical, industrial, or refinery maintenance experience. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Ability to pass equipment tests and visual equipment inspections. Completion of Matrix Service C-Stop Plus Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and site-specific training. Must maintain an active DISA drug testing program status.

Note: The typical hiring range in California is $30.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, location, and other factors. Full-time employees are offered a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), stock purchase plan, wellness programs, and adoption assistance.
